Imagine, we had a sort of Googleplex for artists

;-)

http://www.time.com/time/photoessays/2006/inside_google/1.html

plus some additional facilities included, like Rusiko's New Art Cafe, a Collectors Lounge, Boesner (all stuff for free), Sauna, Georgian Wine and what else ?

Ah, yes, a fast connection Google Black Box Container and some 4WDs for our trips to the mountains of Tusheti...

What else you would need ?

What statistics tell us about the Art Club Caucasus

We have about 31 visitors a day now, not very much, ;-) but it will hopefully improve with the quality of our works ;-) but from 52 countries last month !! from all over the world. Most came from Georgia itself, from the US, Germany, the UK, Hungary, Poland, France, Norway. The average visitor stays 41 seconds on our page, enough to get some good Art Flashes into his eyes, I guess...

Somebody from Uruguay did a Google search on the term "why the art club is important" and got a number 1 hit with our page, I hope he/she found a good answer here ;-)

A Spanish Blogger on Germany quoted the post by Holger John about the protests against the new Bridge in Dresden http://aesyd.blogspot.com/2008/03/el-puente-sobre-el-elba-en-dresden.html

What else ?

Guy takes part in a show in Sidney

"The work of seven artists resident in either New York or Los Angeles will be on show at GBK from Wednesday 19 March through to Saturday 12 April, exhibiting the extraordinary diversity of the two major art centers of the United States.

Exhibiting are Mark Bennett (lithographs), Ivan Navarro (video and photography), Vincent Ramos (time-based wall installation), Guy Richards Smit (video and watercolours) Seher Shah (prints and drawings), Grant Stevens (video and work on paper), and Rosha Yaghmai (installation and drawing)."

For our non-German speaking members

the below photos by Holger John show protest actions against a new bridge to be built over river Elbe in Dresden. The huge project will harm the skyline of the world-famous Baroque Ensemble and UNESCO will remove Dresden's title as "World Heritage site" as a response to the project. The resisters argue a tunnel instead would be a better idea, or less tolerance for auto cars at all could be a more citizen oriented politics.

To put Dresden here at this blog, is a very good decision, because we, the Caucasus and related artists, care for you, Dresden !

I am proud to show you some works of our new member tesa

She gives as some information about herself as follows:

I'm Nino Bardzimashvili from Georgia, but i'd like to call me tesa as an artist. I'm 23 years old. My profession is translator and philology. I graduated from Tbilisi State University, faculty of Humanities, Literatural relations and Translation. Also faculty of Scandinavistic studies, Norwegian language. I translate literatural works from Russian, English, Norwegian and have translated some verses from Polish. I'm interested in art. I paint(selftought),write and do a lot of things by hand. I like traveling, hiking, photo art, music, reading.......
I have a lot of ideas about spending time interesting and expressing myself in an artistic way.
I'd like to be connected with people living with art.

Maybe Nino can help as with translations in Tusheti as well.

You can contact her at ninuca_b@mail.ru
