Contemporary Art of Georgia from the 80s and 90s in the Tbilisi State Gallery

A wonderful well curated show by Irina Popiashvili on display till November 22 in the State Blue Gallery of the National Museum (next to Kashveti church) showing the today famous group of artists working loosely together at Marjanishvili Theater in the End of the 80s.

A highly recommended show, that should go directly into a future Georgian Museum of Contemporary Art. 

Perfectly fits the photography of Guram Tsibakhashvili, who documented the Art scene in these years of the break down of the Soviet Union in Georgia.

In August 2011 Sebastian Bieniek from Berlin stayed a week in our Art House Pona/Khechili and has left his artistic mark in Georgia. Which artist you would have liked to visit in Georgia and Pona? We would do our best to make contact with this artist and invite him. Your Suggestions please in the Comments section!
