The cool real time online collaborative tool for artists: Google Wave

What is Google Wave ?

In short, Lars Rasmussen explains it here: "A "wave" is equal parts conversation and document, where people can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

Here's how it works: In Google Wave you create a wave and add people to it. Everyone on your wave can use richly formatted text, photos, gadgets, and even feeds from other sources on the web. They can insert a reply or edit the wave directly. It's concurrent rich-text editing, where you see on your screen nearly instantly what your fellow collaborators are typing in your wave. That means Google Wave is just as well suited for quick messages as for persistent content — it allows for both collaboration and communication. You can also use "playback" to rewind the wave and see how it evolved. "

As we are looking for such a tool, to think, to work, to display, to present together, together via state borders and oceans and systems for a long time, it is cool to think before the public launch, about what kind of future possibilities there are with Google Wave for Artists.

Read more here and here and enjoy the demonstration:

Will Google Wave change Art, Politics, Economy, Business, Journalism ? What do you think ?

Please comment ! ;-))

  1. One idea is, that it could be great tool to create Artist Group shows, Andy a drawing from Sidney, Olga an Object from Krasnodar, Else a video from Rotterdam and Gia could display it on a wide screen in Tbilisi.

  2. What a great idea Hans! So it will become the virtual exhibition!
    I like that concept.:-)
