"Adam and Eve"
Press Release
The RedLab Foundation displays Irina Gachechiladze's personal exhibition in
the Tbilisi Historical Museum (Qarvasla) on May 19-28, 2011.
Three installations will be presented visually as well as with sound
effects
("sound sculptures") at the exhibition. They concern some social, mostly
ecological, problems.
Installation "Birth" gives a stylized episode which could be perceived as
abortion or abandonement of a newborn.
In case of the installation "Supper" artistic approach is focused on the
food which is ecologically unsafe.
Installation "Adam and Eve" represents a stylized place, where everything
began, when there were no demographic and/or ecological problems. This is a
"paradise", which one can observe, but not to enter.
The goal of installations is not to show the reasons of the problems, they
can neither propose the ways of their solution. Exhibition's aim is to make
public aware of the problems.
The author of the installations is longing for provoking public activity
and dialog and to look for the ways of solving the problems.
Exhibition opens on May 19 at 17:00. At 18:00 a discussion on the
ecological
problems will be held at the same place.
